For uptime maximization, X4 NAS supports dual 10/100TX Ethernet with fail-over feature and mirrored OS for OS fail-over. X4 NAS is equipped with built-in RAID (Redundant Array of Individual Disks) features to prevent data loss during a hard disk drive failure (RAID 1 and 5) or speed up the performance of disk access by combining multiple disks (RAID 0). You can assign a hot spare for RAID 1 and 5 configurations and stripe size for RAID 0 and 5 configurations. To maintain data integrity, X4 NAS provides automatic data corruption check and rebuild. X4 NAS maintains security by utilizing Microsoft Domain and UNIX host and/or NIS network security, along with local user and user group security settings.

Management Ease & Flexibility

X4 NAS is installed within 10 minutes and is managed through a user-friendly web interface, allowing administrators to access and manage X4 NAS virtually anywhere at any time through the Internet. Comprehensive alarm & monitoring features are available for data, users, server and network utilization, hardware and temperature, all with local alarms and/or email notifications upon detection of any problems. SMART (Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) predictive failure analysis is provided at all times for all hard disk drives, preventing problems before they even happen. Unlike other NAS products, the Dynamic Volume Share Quota™ (DVSQ) feature allows you to assign and manage storage capacity of a physical volume dynamically without having to re-configure the physical volume. For data backup, X4 NAS includes an Ultra 160 SCSI external port to attach a tape backup system.
