The OS resides on a Disk-on-Module (DOM) or flash media, eliminating the factor of mechanical failure. The entire OS is very compact and lean, making it extremely efficient while increasing reliability. Based on Linux for its reliability, performance, and superior immunity to hacking and virus infection, X6 NSS is equipped further with various redundancy and high-performance features for disk I/O, network I/O, and memory caching.

Modular and flexible.

By utilizing its iSCSI initiator and target modules, the X6 NSS can be configured to attach multiple storage volumes to a single point of access. Storage capacity and quantity may be deployed quickly and on demand. All-in-one packaging covers a wide range of hardware configurations that are based on Intel and AMD’s desktop/workstation/server processors. All three major components, NAS, iSCSI target and Gateway for FC/iSCSI target, may be configured with appropriate hardware configurations using either Intel or AMD processor-based configurations.
